Perspective Gallery is pleased to announce our July exhibition, VICINITY. If you live close enough to travel to Evanston to drop off your artwork (if selected), then you live in the ‘vicinity’ for the purposes of this exhibit. All subject matter and photographic processes are welcome.
JANE FULTON ALT is an award winning fine art photographer living and working in Evanston, Illinois. Alt is a three time winner of Photolucida’s Critical Mass for her Katrina and Burn portfolios. She has authored Look and Leave: Photographs and Stories of New Orleans’s Lower Ninth Ward (The Center for American Places at Columbia College Chicago, 2009), The Burn (Keher Verlag, 2013), and her Crude Awakening portfolio was printed in multiple publications worldwide. Alt conducts an ongoing photographic critique group and is a member of the Curatorial Board of the Ragdale Foundation and the advisory boards of Chicago’s Filter Photo and Perspective Gallery. Her curatorial experience includes the #metoo exhibition at Perspective Gallery in 2018. Alt’s work is represented by Corden Potts Gallery in San Francisco, California; Sous Les Etoiles Gallery in New York City; Soren Christensen Gallery in New Orleans and Walker Fine Art in Denver, Colorado. Alt has exhibited nationally and her work can be found in many permanent collections.
Artists are invited to submit up to five (5) photographic images in JPEG form. Images must have been created by Chicago area resident within the past five years. Artists should complete the entry form and upload their images at:
Submission should be saved in jpg form, 2000 pixels at the longest dimension, 72 ppi, sRGB color space and please include dimensions of framed work on the submission form.
The non-refundable fee for submitting up to five (5) images is $35.
Notification of acceptance: May 30, 2019
Delivery of work to the gallery: June 28-30, 2019
Exhibition dates: July 5 -28, 2019
Opening reception and awards: July 6, 2019 5-7 pm
Pickup of work: Sunday, July 28, 2018 2-5 pm
All accepted work must be framed in a professional manner with D-rings
and hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers).
Work must be delivered between June 28-July 1 during gallery hours.
Juror’s Award: $100
The1st runner-up: $75
The 2nd runner-up: $50
Perspective Gallery will receive a 40% commission on any artwork sold during the exhibition. Artists will receive 60% of the sales price of any work sold. Perspective Gallery is a not-for-profit photography gallery whose purpose is to promote photography as fine art.
